KATHMANDU: The stock market continued its downward trend on Thursday as the Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index fell by 13.85 points to close at 2531.55 points.
A total turnover of Rs 4.97 billion was recorded during the trading session, with 1.058 million shares changing hands. Trading took place across 341 scrips. Sellers dominated the market, leading to a decline in the share prices of 199 companies, while only 68 companies saw their values increase. The prices of 11 companies remained unchanged.
All sectoral indices recorded a decline today. The manufacturing and processing sector saw the highest drop of 1.14 percent, while all other indices fell by less than one percent.
Liberty Energy saw the highest growth in share price today, rising by 15 percent to reach over Rs 255. Conversely, the share price of Sindhu Bikas Bank fell the most, declining by 14.98 percent. Sindhu Bikas Bank also led in terms of total transaction volume, with over Rs 454.88 million worth of shares traded.
