KATHMANDU: The Nepal stock market witnessed a decline of 36.25 points on Wednesday. According to the Nepal Stock Exchange, the index closed at 2618.03 points. Despite the drop in the index, the total turnover surpassed Rs 6 billion.
During the trading session, the share prices of 23 companies increased, while 253 companies saw a decline. The share prices of 2 companies remained unchanged. While Dhaulagiri Laghubitta hit a positive circuit, other gainers rose by up to 5.44 percent. Among the decliners, the maximum drop recorded was 8.54 percent.
All sector indices ended the day in the red. In terms of turnover, Shivam Cements led the market with Rs 380 million, followed by Reliance Spinning Mills with Rs 210 million and Himalayan Distillery with Rs 200 million.
