KATHMANDU: The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index saw a modest recovery today, closing at 2578.73 points after a gain of 11.96 points.
Market activity remained positive throughout the session, with the share prices of 169 companies rising, while 95 companies saw a decline and 15 remained stable. The index successfully surpassed the 2578-point mark during the day. A total of 8,955,230 shares were traded across 41,607 transactions involving 359 scrips.
The total turnover for the day reached Rs 3.13 billion. Ghalemdi Hydropower led the market in terms of transaction volume, recording a turnover of Rs 239.1 million.
Sectoral indices showed minimal fluctuations, with all groups recording changes of less than one percent. The banking sector led the gains with an increase of 0.65 percent. Among individual stocks, Trishuli Hydropower saw the highest gain at 5.11 percent, while Sarbottam Cement recorded the sharpest decline at 4.94 percent.
