NEPSE rises by 12 points with turnover of Rs 5.5 billion

KATHMANDU: The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index recorded a double-digit gain on Thursday, closing at 2624.36 points after rising by 11.93 points.

A total of 13.61 million shares across 339 companies were traded in 51,728 transactions. The total turnover for the day reached Rs 5.49 billion.

Sector-wise, most sub-indices posted gains, with the exception of the investment and other sub-groups. The investment sub-group fell by 0.18 points, while the other sub-group declined by 0.81 points. The life insurance sub-group saw the most significant growth, rising by 125.92 points.

Dhaulagiri Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha led the gainers, with its share price increasing by 12.43 percent. The stock, which closed at Rs 1110 on Wednesday, reached Rs 1248 by the end of Thursday’s trading session. Conversely, Hathaway Investment Nepal saw its share price drop by 2.97 percent, falling by Rs 18 to close at Rs 588.
