KATHMANDU: The newly appointed Minister for Industry, Commerce and Supplies, Deepak Kumar Sah, has taken the oath of office and secrecy. President Ram Chandra Paudel administered the oath to Sah during a special ceremony held at the Presidential Office, Shital Niwas, on Thursday.
Sah was elected to the House from Sunsari-4 in the election held on Feb. 21. His appointment followed the resignation of Gauri Kumari Yadav, who stepped down from her ministerial post earlier on Thursday citing the shortage of cooking gas. President Paudel appointed Sah to the position upon the recommendation of Prime Minister Balen Shah.
The swearing-in ceremony was attended by several high-ranking officials, including Vice President Ram Sahay Prasad Yadav, Prime Minister Balen Shah, Speaker Dol Prasad Aryal, National Assembly Chairperson Narayan Prasad Dahal, and Chief Justice Dr. Manoj Kumar Sharma.
