KATHMANDU: A 34-year-old man died after being buried by a collapsing mound of earth while extracting clay in Ramechhap. The victim has been identified as Som Bahadur Mahat of Likhu Tamakoshi Rural Municipality-4, Bijulikot.
Mahat had left his home on Monday to collect clay. When he did not return by 3 p.m., a search operation was launched. His body was recovered at 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday at a site about 1.5 km north of his home, where the mound had collapsed during the extraction process.
Authorities have confirmed that the victim was found buried under the debris. Further investigation into the incident is currently underway.
