KATHMANDU: The House of Representatives adjourned on Tuesday after tabling several bills and passing motions for theoretical discussions on proposed legislation. Speaker Dol Prasad Aryal announced that the session will resume on Wednesday at 1:00 p.m.
During the meeting, the National Defense University Bill, 2083, and the Diploma Engineering Council Bill, 2083, were formally introduced. Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Sobita Gautam, representing the Prime Minister, presented the National Defense University Bill, 2083. The House subsequently passed a motion to proceed with theoretical discussions on the bill.
Additionally, the House unanimously passed a motion to consider the Bill to Revive Certain Nepal Acts, 2083. Lawmakers raised questions and expressed interest regarding the legislation, which aims to reactivate and streamline various existing laws. The government introduced the bill as part of its legislative agenda to address regulatory gaps.
In the same session, Ojaswi Sherchan, Chairperson of the Committee on Education, Health and Information Technology, presented the committee report on the National Forensic Science Laboratory (Establishment and Operation) Bill, 2083. The bill originated in the National Assembly. While submitting the report, Sherchan briefed the House on the extensive discussions and amendments made during the committee stage. The meeting concluded after the completion of these legislative procedures.
