BUTWAL: The Western Regional Petroleum Dealers Association has contributed Rs 4,000,001 to the Prime Minister’s Disaster Relief Fund to support search, rescue, and rehabilitation efforts for victims of the Bhote Koshi River floods. The association announced the contribution during a press conference held in Butwal.
Association President Himal Gaire stated that the funds were collected from members of the organization, with the association adding an additional amount to reach the total. During the event, Gaire confirmed that there are no disruptions in the supply and distribution of petroleum products within their operational areas. He also noted that despite the rising popularity of electric vehicles, there has been no significant fluctuation in petrol sales.
Former association president Prem Neupane emphasized the importance of national unity in assisting citizens affected by disasters. According to General Secretary Dashiram Adhikari, the association currently represents over 200 petroleum business owners. Of these, 70 members have contributed to the relief fund so far.
