KATHMANDU: The number of pilgrims visiting the Pathibhara temple in Taplejung has increased significantly with the commencement of the Navaratri festival.
Crowds of devotees gathered at the temple from early morning on the first day of the festival to offer prayers and seek blessings.
According to Rajendra Mahat, an employee at the Pathibhara Area Development Committee, there is a large influx of visitors at the shrine. The surge in pilgrims has also led to increased activity in the Pathibhara area and at hotels in Phedi.
Local hotel entrepreneur Indra Narayan Bhattarai stated that all local hotels are currently fully booked by visitors arriving to pay homage to the goddess and to view the surrounding mountain ranges, including Kanchenjunga, Makalu, and Phaktanglung.
To manage the influx of pilgrims and ensure their safety during the festival, the District Administration Office has made necessary arrangements in coordination with the development committee and other relevant agencies. Chief District Officer Umesh Kumar Dahal confirmed that the administration is working closely with stakeholders to maintain order and security for the devotees.
