KATHMANDU: The Prime Minister’s Disaster Relief Fund has reached a total balance of Rs 14.45 billion. According to the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers, the fund holds Rs 10.79 billion in nine different banks as of this morning.
Additionally, the fund holds USD 23.93 million across two separate dollar accounts. The combined total across all accounts amounts to Rs 14.45 billion.
From this total, Rs 1 billion has already been disbursed through the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority to support victims of the flood in the Bhote Koshi River in Rasuwa.
The government has also decided to provide monthly financial support to flood-affected families in Rasuwa for housing rent and other essential expenses. Under this arrangement, families with up to four members will receive Rs 15,000 per month, with an additional Rs 2,000 provided for each extra family member.
