PM relief fund balance reaches Rs 17.54 billion

KATHMANDU: Financial contributions continue to flow into the Prime Minister’s Disaster Relief Fund and the Prime Minister’s Relief Fund following the floods in the Bhotekoshi River of Rasuwa. According to the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers, the total balance across various accounts has reached Rs 17.54 billion, 42 million, 89 thousand and 678.

The office stated that the Prime Minister’s Disaster Relief Fund holds a balance of Rs 12.95 billion, 16 million, 31 thousand and 201 across nine commercial banks. Additionally, foreign currency accounts maintained at Himalayan Bank and Laxmi Sunrise Bank hold a total of 2.97 million, 29 thousand and 972 US dollars.

The government has already disbursed Rs 1 billion from these funds to support the flood-affected areas. Contributions from various sectors remain ongoing to support the relief and recovery efforts.
