Police arrest 25 people across Nepal in drug crackdown

KATHMANDU: Police have arrested 25 individuals from various locations across the country during regular patrols for drug-related offenses.

According to the Central Police Newsroom, 2 suspects were apprehended from Nakkhu Dobato in Lalitpur Metropolitan City-4, 1 from Chambas in Gajuri Rural Municipality-2 of Dhading, 2 from Pipra Tole in Siraha Municipality-21, 4 from Khotang Hotel in Damak Municipality-1 of Jhapa, and 2 from Bodebarsain Municipality-5 in Saptari.

Additional arrests include 2 individuals from Jamuni Bazaar in Badhaiyatal Rural Municipality-2 of Bardiya, 3 from Alka Marg in Biratnagar Metropolitan City-11 of Morang, 1 from Nadipur in Pokhara Metropolitan City-3 of Kaski, 1 from Amaha Tole in Itahari Sub-metropolitan City-19 of Sunsari, and 3 from Nayabasti in Barahakshetra Municipality-3. Police also confirmed the arrest of 2 individuals from Sagarpath in Hetauda Sub-metropolitan City-11 of Makwanpur and 2 from Birendranagar Municipality-11 in Surkhet.

During the operations, police seized quantities of brown heroin, marijuana, and nitrazepam, a medication that requires a medical prescription.
