President Paudel visits flood victims in Nuwakot

KATHMANDU: President Ramchandra Paudel conducted an on-site inspection of various areas in Nuwakot district on Monday, which were affected by the floods in the Bhote Koshi river on Aug. 26. During the visit, he met with flood-affected residents and listened to their grievances.

President Paudel received a briefing from the District Security Committee regarding the damage caused by the floods. During the meeting, Chief District Officer Shambhu Prasad Regmi provided details on the loss of life and property, as well as the ongoing efforts related to search, rescue, relief, rehabilitation, and immediate reconstruction activities.

The President also visited a holding center in Nuwakot where flood victims are currently sheltered. The affected citizens informed him about the scale of the destruction caused by the floods and urged the government and relevant stakeholders to expedite search, rescue, and rehabilitation efforts.

Additionally, President Paudel inspected the Nepal Army camp in Trishuli, Nuwakot, and toured the flood-affected regions of Rasuwa.
