KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Balendra Shah has urged lawmakers from the Gen Z age group to adopt innovative thinking and create employment opportunities within the country for their generation.
The prime minister made the call during an interaction held at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers in Singha Durbar on Friday.
Prime Minister Shah advised the lawmakers to address fundamental public livelihood issues while taking initiatives to make their generation self-reliant. He emphasized that they should lead by example.
To achieve this, he suggested conducting field studies and research, utilizing information technology to its fullest, and adopting a problem-solving approach. He further urged them to move past outdated and impractical ways of thinking.
The prime minister also encouraged the lawmakers to establish independent professional foundations for income rather than viewing politics solely as a career. He noted that this approach would help them become self-reliant in the long term and serve as a source of inspiration for their peers.
Gen Z lawmakers participating in the interaction described the prime minister’s remarks as parental guidance. They expressed their commitment to working toward making their generation self-reliant and creating opportunities within the country.
