KATHMANDU: Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) chair Rajendra Lingden has donated blood for the 95th time. The party organized a blood donation program at its central office on Thursday following reports of blood shortages in hospitals.

Lingden participated in the event and donated blood himself. He stated that he decided to organize the program immediately after hearing news reports about the scarcity of blood in hospitals while commuting to the office. He said, ‘I was listening to the news in the car while coming to the party office from home. After hearing the news that there was a shortage of blood in the hospitals, I decided to organize a blood donation program as soon as I reached the party office. Then the program was organized today and I also got the opportunity to donate blood for the 95th time.’

Lingden urged people not to view blood donation merely as an official event or a one-day campaign, but as a lifelong social responsibility. He further called upon party leaders and workers at all levels to participate in blood donation campaigns to fulfill their humanitarian duties.

Dozens of party leaders and workers, including RPP lawmaker Khusbu Oli and youth wing president Kailash Katuwal, also donated blood during the event.
