HETAUDA: Salt Trading Corporation in Makwanpur has begun selling essential food items at subsidised rates ahead of the upcoming festival season. Following directives from the government, the corporation is offering discounts on salt, sugar, cooking oil and flour.
Office chief Madhusudhan Adhikari stated that to ensure fair distribution, each individual is limited to purchasing 6 packets of salt, 6 kilograms of sugar, 5 litres of oil and 5 kilograms of flour. Compared to prevailing market prices, the corporation has reduced the price of sugar by Rs 5 per kilogram, salt by Rs 2 per kilogram, flour by Rs 7 per kilogram and cooking oil by Rs 7 per litre. The subsidised sales will continue until the Tihar festival.
