BIRATNAGAR: The Shram Sanskriti Party has appointed two central committee members as party secretaries and endorsed 18 members from senior leader Sudan Kirati’s group into its central committee during a meeting held on Tuesday.

The central committee meeting elevated central members Shanti Pakhrin and Prasad Rai to the position of central secretary. The meeting took place without inviting the group led by senior leader Sudan Kirati, who had joined the Harka Sampang-led party as senior leader four months ago.

Despite the absence of Kirati’s group at the meeting, the central committee formally approved 18 members from his team into the party leadership. Among the 18 approved members, 15 have been inducted as central committee members while three have been appointed as office bearers.

In addition, the meeting approved a decision to provide Rs 1.5 million in support for flood victims in Rasuwa. Party Chairman Harka Sampang had previously announced plans to raise Rs 1.5 million for the relief effort.
