KANCHANPUR: Shuklaphanta National Park has requested public cooperation to help control wild elephants in the region. The park office issued a notice on Monday urging locals to provide timely information whenever elephant herds are spotted in their areas. Recently, herds of wild elephants have been damaging crops and destroying houses in various parts of the district.
Senior Conservation Officer Chandra Shekhar Chaudhary stated that the park is actively working to manage wild elephants that frequently emerge in the buffer zone villages and farmlands. He urged residents to contact the nearest sector or ranger post immediately if they spot elephants to assist in control efforts.
The park office has listed several contact points for reporting elephant sightings, including the Majhgaun headquarters, Arjuni sector, and various range posts such as Hirapur, Beldadi, Dhakka, Pipariya, Dodhara, Paliya, Malumela, Badanikheda, Tarapur, and Hattithala.
