KATHMANDU: Captain of Sri Lanka’s T20 cricket team, Charith Asalanka, is set to play for Biratnagar Kings in the third edition of the Nepal Premier League (NPL).
Biratnagar announced via its social media account on Thursday that they have signed Asalanka as one of the foreign recruits for the upcoming season. The 29-year-old Asalanka has scored 1,466 runs in 77 T20 International matches for Sri Lanka. As a bowler, he has claimed seven wickets.
Asalanka has participated in prominent franchise leagues such as the Caribbean Premier League (CPL), Lanka Premier League (LPL),
Pakistan Super League (PSL), and International League T20 (ILT20).
The third season of the NPL is scheduled to be held in Kathmandu starting coming October 26.
