KATHMANDU: Authorities have urged residents to remain vigilant as the water level at the Saptakoshi Barrage has risen significantly. According to the Koshi Project, the water flow was measured at 189,480 cusecs as of 9:25 pm.

In response to the rising water levels, 24 gates of the barrage have been opened. The project stated that the surge is due to increased flow in rivers originating from various hilly districts that feed into the Saptakoshi.

Residents living near the riverbanks have been advised to exercise safety precautions. Additionally, the Dharan District Traffic Office reported that heavy vehicles are currently being allowed to cross the barrage only in turns to manage traffic safely.
