DHANKUTA: Two people were injured after a microbus and a tanker collided at Selfidanda in Sangurigadhi rural municipality-6 of Dhankuta on Tuesday. The accident occurred at approximately 11:30 a.m. along the Koshi Highway.
The microbus, bearing registration number Pra 1-02-001 Ja 4441, was traveling from Dharan to Terhathum when it collided with the tanker, Ko 1 Kha 7520, coming from the opposite direction. The injured have been identified as the microbus driver, 42-year-old Sanjay Maske from Phedap rural municipality-1 of Terhathum, and a passenger, 38-year-old Kul Prasad Thapa Magar from Pauwadumma rural municipality-3 of Bhojpur.
According to police, Maske sustained injuries to his legs and various parts of his body, while Magar suffered head injuries. Both individuals are reported to be in moderate condition. A team from the Bhedetar Area Police Office arrived at the scene and transported the injured to the B.P. Koirala Institute of Health Sciences in Dharan for treatment. Police have taken both vehicles and the tanker driver, 38-year-old Krishna Kumar Magar from Pathari Shanishchare municipality-8 of Morang, into custody for further investigation.
