KATHMANDU: Two workers died and one was critically injured after being buried by a landslide while upgrading a road in Bohoragaun, Nisikhola Rural Municipality-3 of Baglung district.
The incident occurred at approximately 7:20 a.m. today while workers were digging the inner road section connecting Jhivakhola to Bohoragaun. A JCB excavator, with registration number Lu 1 Ka 3446, was operating at the site when a mound of earth suddenly collapsed from above, burying the workers.
The victims have been identified as 32-year-old Lal Bahadur Budhathoki from Salyan and 32-year-old Raju Thapa Magar from Gaighat, Udayapur. Both were found buried under the soil.
The injured worker, 25-year-old Krishna Bahadur Gharti from Triveni Rural Municipality-5, Rolpa, was rescued from the site. He has been sent to Burtibang Hospital for medical treatment.
