KATHMANDU: The CPN-UML election review and party restructuring task force has decided to merge three separate reports prepared by its leaders into a single joint report for the party secretariat.
Previously, leaders Ram Bahadur Thapa, Shankar Pokharel, and Pradeep Gyawali had drafted individual reports.
The task force meeting held on Sunday decided not to include issues related to leadership restructuring in the final report. Task force secretary Padma Aryal stated that the committee is finalizing a joint document based on the draft prepared by the coordinator, with minor revisions. She said, ‘Currently, the task force will not submit anything related to leadership restructuring.’
According to task force secretary Mahesh Basnet, the committee also decided to convene a national council meeting. The party’s central secretariat is scheduled to meet today after 3 p.m. to set the agenda for the central committee meeting beginning tomorrow. The issue of whether the leadership should pave the way for new appointments had been a point of contention following the election results.
