KATHMANDU: The upgrading of the Bijauri-Kothari road in Dang is currently in its final stages. Construction crews are completing drainage systems and sub-base preparation for the project, which spans 15.58 kilometers.
The project is being executed under the rural connectivity improvement project of the Lumbini provincial government with a total budget of Rs 448.7 million. The road will connect Bijauri to Kothari via Basadbara, Jamuni, Lakshmipur, South Kurariya, and Kanjwar.
Milan Baral, a representative for the construction firm MC-ANS BG JV, stated that asphalt paving work is expected to commence shortly. To accelerate progress, the company has collaborated with local contractors, material suppliers, and rental service providers registered in Tulsipur sub-metropolitan city. This coordination has facilitated the efficient mobilization of equipment, materials, and labor.
The road will be paved using asphalt technology, and the necessary asphalt plant and equipment have already been installed. The company aims to complete the base and sub-base work before the Dashain festival. The entire project is scheduled for completion by Chaitra, with the company emphasizing that strict quality standards are being maintained throughout the construction process.
