KATHMANDU: The newly appointed acting ambassador of the United States to Nepal, Megan Bouldin, held a courtesy meeting with Minister for Foreign Affairs Shishir Khanal today.
During the meeting held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, acting ambassador Bouldin expressed deep condolences to those who lost their lives in the Bhotekoshi floods. She stated that the United States government stands in solidarity with the government and people of Nepal during this difficult time.
Acting ambassador Bouldin informed that the U.S. government is prepared to support and assist Nepal in its relief, recovery and reconstruction efforts following the floods. In response, Foreign Minister Khanal expressed his gratitude to the U.S. government and the American people for their solidarity and commitment to support Nepal during this challenging period.
Minister Khanal expressed his confidence that the U.S. government’s support will continue through the relief and recovery phases into the reconstruction phase in Nepal.
