KATHMANDU: Megan Bouldin, the US chargé d’affaires, met Education and Sports Minister Sasmit Pokharel on Friday to discuss cooperation in education and sports, including opportunities to expand the contribution of US exchange programs and promote sports diplomacy.
During the meeting, Bouldin highlighted the contributions of Nepalis who had participated in US exchange programs, including the Fulbright Program, and returned to Nepal to apply their learning and experience in the country’s education sector.
The two also discussed opportunities to bring American expertise in athlete training, development and sports management to Nepal as the country looks ahead to the 2028 Los Angeles Olympic and Paralympic Games.
The discussion focused on potential ways to support Nepali athletes and coaches through knowledge-sharing and professional collaboration with US sports experts.
