KATHMANDU: The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has forecast rain and snowfall in various parts of the country for the festival of Teej today. According to the bulletin updated at 8 am on Monday, the weather is generally cloudy in the hilly and mountainous regions of Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, Gandaki, Karnali, and Sudurpashchim provinces.
The weather remains mainly clear in the Terai regions of Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, and Sudurpashchim provinces. Light rain is currently occurring in a few mountainous areas of Koshi province and in one or two places in the mountainous regions of Bagmati and Gandaki provinces.
Throughout the day on Monday, the weather is expected to be generally cloudy across the country. There is a possibility of light to moderate rain and snowfall accompanied by thunder and lightning in some mountainous areas of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, and in a few places in the mountainous regions of Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpashchim provinces. Similar weather conditions are expected in some hilly areas of the country.
In the Terai regions of Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, and Sudurpashchim provinces, as well as in a few places in the Terai of Madhesh and Koshi provinces, rain accompanied by thunder and lightning is likely. The department has warned of possible heavy rainfall in one or two places in the hilly regions of Koshi, Karnali, and Sudurpashchim, as well as in the hilly and Terai areas of Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces.
At night, the weather will remain generally cloudy nationwide. Similar patterns of rain, snowfall, thunder, and lightning are expected to continue in the mountainous and hilly regions, as well as in parts of the Terai, throughout the night.
