KATHMANDU: Meteorologist Ujjwal Upadhyaya has stated that weather across Nepal is expected to remain favorable for the next six days.
He noted that the possibility of rain has significantly decreased nationwide, with most regions likely to experience sunny conditions throughout the day. Upadhyaya advised farmers to proceed with harvesting paddy and other crops without delay.
On Monday, Ashoj 26, Upadhyaya explained that there is zero chance of rain in the Terai region, while most parts of the hills and mountains are unlikely to see precipitation or snowfall. He noted that from sunrise to sunset, the skies are expected to remain clear.
However, he cautioned that localized rainfall could still occur in some areas due to evaporation from ground moisture, rivers, and forests following recent prolonged rains. Specifically, he advised residents in areas like Hemja, Lumle, and Dhampus in Kaski, as well as southern valleys and deep gorges in the Himalayan region, to monitor local weather conditions.
Regarding concerns over a low-pressure system previously expected to affect Nepal around Navami and Dashami, Upadhyaya stated that the system has weakened significantly. It is now projected to impact only Myanmar and southern India, with no expected influence on Nepal.
Consequently, the weather during the upcoming Dashain festival is expected to be sunny and pleasant. Further updates regarding the weather forecast will be provided by Friday.
