KATHMANDU: The body of 29-year-old Kalpana Pun, who went missing after being swept away by the Nisti River in Gulmi, was recovered after 19 hours. Pun, a resident of Indregauda in Musikot Municipality, disappeared around 5 p.m. on Sunday.
She was on her way from her home to her maternal house in Hul, Isma Rural Municipality-4, when she was swept away while crossing the river, which marks the border between Musikot Municipality and Isma Rural Municipality. Following the incident, local residents and police launched a search operation.
District Police Office Gulmi Chief SP Bhim Kiran Bogati confirmed that her body was found around 12 p.m. on Monday near Thula Pahara in Amrai. Police teams from Isma Police Station and Paudi Amrai were deployed for the search. Authorities are currently preparing to transport the body to the District Hospital in Tamghas for a post-mortem examination.
