KATHMANDU: In a meeting of the House of Representatives (HoR) today, lawmakers advised the government to emphasize on the promotion of electric cooking stove.
They drew the government’s attention to the need to promote the use of electric option as an alternative to the LP gas.
Taking time in the meeting, Shreeram Neupane pressed the need to promote the use of alternative fuel to minimize environment pollution and replace import of cooking gas.
He also expressed his concerns over challenges being faced by citizens due to the disruptions of roadways by monsoon-related disasters.
Dhan Bahadur Budha said Dolpa is facing difficulties in the transport of foodstuffs and development construction materials because of the disruption of roadways by landslides. He demanded prompt rescue, relief and rehabilitation for the affected citizens.
Prem Bahadur Bayak said the number of human casualties from road accidents is rising, demanding the implementation of an effective policy on road safety.
Prakash Pathak urged the government to take effective measures for the management of wild elephant in Jhapa as the district people are continue to be suffered by the entry of animals into their settlements.
“The government should ensure result-oriented deliveries,” he stressed.
Purna Prasad Limbu of Sankhuwasabha apprised the House that incessant rains disrupted power supply to Bhokhola rural municipality in the district, forcing the locals to depend on an alternative source of energy.
The opposition lawmakers put an end to their protest from today, demanding the Prime Minister’s respond in the House after Speaker Dol Prasad Aryal on Monday issued ruling directing the Prime Minister for replying the lawmakers’ concerns.
