GORKHA: Home Minister Sudhan Gurung lost his temper during an interaction with his constituents in Shahid Lakhan Rural Municipality-9 on Sunday evening, telling frustrated voters to “take back their votes” if they expected immediate transformations within four months of government formation.
Gurung, who was elected from Gorkha Constituency No. 1, faced intense pushback from local residents demanding to know why his campaign promises had not yet materialized in the national budget.
As voters pressed him on unfulfilled pledges and development funding, the minister shut down the line of questioning, insisting that long-term systemic change requires time.
Addressing the crowd, Minister Gurung stated that detailing every minor local project in the national budget handbook was unfeasible, explaining that development needs are currently being routed through local government lists.
He urged constituents to judge his performance over his full five-year mandate rather than expecting instant overhauls, asserting that voters are free to reject him in the next election if he fails to deliver on his commitments over time.
