NRB sets foreign exchange rates for Monday

KATHMANDU: Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) has announced the official foreign exchange rates for Monday, with the buying rate for the US dollar set at Rs 152.39 and the selling rate at Rs 152.99.

The central bank has fixed the buying rate of the European euro at Rs 176.28 and the selling rate at Rs 176.97. Likewise, the UK pound sterling will be bought at Rs 206.23 and sold at Rs 207.04, while the buying and selling rates for the Swiss franc have been set at Rs 187.41 and Rs 188.14, respectively.

The Australian dollar has a buying rate of Rs 107.95 and a selling rate of Rs 108.38. The Canadian dollar will be bought at Rs 109.83 and sold at Rs 110.26, while the Singapore dollar has been fixed at Rs 119.12 for buying and Rs 119.59 for selling.

For Asian currencies, the buying rate for 10 Japanese yen has been set at Rs 9.57 and the selling rate at Rs 9.60. The Chinese yuan has a buying rate of Rs 22.60 and a selling rate of Rs 22.69. Similarly, the Saudi Arabian riyal will be bought at Rs 40.59 and sold at Rs 40.75, while the Qatari riyal has been fixed at Rs 41.82 for buying and Rs 41.98 for selling.

The buying rate for one Thai baht stands at Rs 4.60 and the selling rate at Rs 4.62. The UAE dirham has been fixed at Rs 41.49 for buying and Rs 41.65 for selling. Similarly, the Malaysian ringgit has a buying rate of Rs 37.30 and a selling rate of Rs 37.44, while 100 South Korean won will be bought at Rs 10.76 and sold at Rs 10.80.

The Swedish krona has been fixed at Rs 15.99 for buying and Rs 16.06 for selling. The Danish krone has a buying rate of Rs 23.59 and a selling rate of Rs 23.68.

Among other major currencies, the buying rate for the Hong Kong dollar is Rs 19.42 and the selling rate is Rs 19.50. The Kuwaiti dinar has been set at Rs 495.98 for buying and Rs 497.93 for selling. The buying rate for the Bahraini dinar is Rs 404.21 and the selling rate is Rs 405.80, while the Omani rial has been fixed at Rs 395.80 for buying and Rs 397.36 for selling.

The buying and selling rates for 100 Indian rupees have both been fixed at Rs 160.

NRB said the exchange rates could be revised at any time depending on market conditions and other requirements. It also noted that commercial banks may quote different rates, with the latest official exchange rates available through the central bank’s website.
